A handbook is how your way of working gets to a new hire without you standing next to them. Write it once on the web, assign it, and your staff work through it on their phones.
The pieces
- Handbook — one topic your staff should know end to end, like Opening the store or How we take orders.
- Step — one sitting inside the handbook. Steps unlock in order, so nobody skips ahead.
- Block — what a step is made of: text, a photo, a video, a file, a quiz or a checklist. Your staff confirm each block before moving on.
A handbook of five steps with a handful of blocks each is a normal size. Around 20 steps is where we suggest splitting it in two.
Who does what
- You build and publish handbooks on the web at app.tetbee.com, under Handbooks in the sidebar.
- Your staff see assigned handbooks in the mobile app under My handbooks, and on the home screen while one is still in progress.
The usual flow
- Build the handbook — see Build a handbook.
- Publish it. Publishing freezes a version, so later edits never disturb someone mid-way.
- Assign it to staff or to a whole position — see Publish and assign a handbook.
- Watch the Progress tab and score any written answers — see Track handbook progress.
New hires can get their handbooks the moment you approve them, without a separate step. That happens in the join request approval — see Add your staff.
